Sushma Swaraj's viral back-to-back 'why Chowkidar?' banter is winning the Internet

Sushma Swaraj, the Minister of External Affairs of India, is well known to be active, popular and most importantly helpful on Twitter. Recently, a netizen asked her why she calls herself 'Chowkidar' - in reference to the ongoing 'Main Bhi Chowkidar' campaign by the BJP ahead of the elections.

Sushma Swaraj, the Minister of External Affairs of India, is well known to be active, popular and most importantly helpful on Twitter. Recently, a netizen asked her why she calls herself 'Chowkidar' - in reference to the ongoing 'Main Bhi Chowkidar' campaign by the BJP ahead of the elections.

In response to the user, Swaraj tweeted in return: "Because I am doing Chowkidari of Indian interests and Indian nationals abroad." 

Immediately, a troll came at her with this mocking tweet that said, "Certainly it's not Sushma Swaraj who is doing this tweets. (sic) Some PR guy is doing his/her duty for what they being paid for!"

Using her wits, Swaraj replied:

 After her reply, people praised her for yet another witty comeback and her Twitter account was filled with reactions.

One user even replied, "You must be proud that madam has replied to you. The best ever Foreign Affairs Minister." (sic)

Some users went a step further to express that she makes the Indians proud.

Her active engagement on Twitter with people is also one of the reasons why people frequently reach out to her. A lot of Indian families abroad have reached out to her for help using Twitter. And more often than not, Swaraj has addressed their issues directly.
