Resentment against the refusal of special status for Andhra Pradesh continues among the members of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) as several of its party leaders were seen protesting outside the Parliament.

However, as a sign of protest, TDP MP Naramalli Sivaprasad on Tuesday sported an avatar of late spiritual leader Sathya Sai Baba.

This is not the first time that the MP has been seen dressing up as renown personalities as a sign of protest. A week ago, on July 23, the MP dressed himself up as the famous ancient poet and Lord Venkateswara devotee Annamayya. Supporting the same cause, Sivaparasad has taken up various costumes ranging from a cattle herder to a schoolboy.

Earlier, in March, Sivaprasad dressed as a Swachh Bharat worker with a wiper in his hands, while on another day, he wore shorts and carried a ruler with a notebook and said PM Modi has been the "bad student of the class".

The MP who is a doctor by profession entered politics and became a lawmaker in the year 1999. Since then he has served under the Chandrababu Naidu-led government from the Chittoor constituency.

The no-confidence motion against the PM Modi government was rejected in the Lok Sabha on July 20. The motion that was filed by the TDP, was defeated by more than 2/3rd majority of the House after 126 members voted for the motion while 325 voted against it.

The total strength of the Lok Sabha was 534, before being reduced to 515 as 19 BJD MPs staged a walkout, pulling down the halfway mark from 268 to 258.

After the no-confidence motion was defeated in the Parliament, TDP President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that PM Modi didn't speak on Andhra Pradesh's development and was unjust towards the state.

"Prime Minister didn’t speak on Andhra Pradesh’s development. He displayed the same negligence. I have never seen such an irresponsible central government before. By seeing this unjust attitude of BJP, it seems like Congress government was better. BJP doubted our patriotism. This is not tolerable," said the Andhra Pradesh CM.

Prior to the voice vote, PM Modi in his speech appealed to the MPs to scrap the motion. PM also said through the motion the "negative face of politics is out". The PM also dubbed the 'floor test' as 'forced test'. He also said:

"This is not a test for the Government, but for the Opposition," adding, "they want to snatch my chair."
