Telangana: Girl battling cancer made Police Commissioner for a day

17- year-old girl battling blood cancer was made Police Commissioner for a day at Telangana's Rachakonda Police station on Tuesday to fulfill her wish.

In a heartwarming gesture, a 17- year-old girl battling blood cancer was made Police Commissioner for a day at Telangana's Rachakonda Police station on Tuesday to fulfil her wish. Officials also provided her with financial support. A Ramya, a second-year student is currently undertaking treatment and fighting blood cancer from NIMS Punjagutta Hyderabad.

17-year-old made Police Commissioner for a day

The 'Make a Wish' foundation approached CP Rachakonda Mahesh Bhagwat presenting before him the wish of A Ramya of becoming a Commissioner of Police for a day. While taking charge as the commissioner Ramya said she felt very happy being given the post. She also said she wants to prevent property offences and control law and order problems in Ranchakonda. The 17-year old also said she wants to increase safety for women and she will increase the She Team and patrolling parties.

Presented with Guard of Honour 

CP Ranchakonda also presented her with some financial help. He also wished for her speedy recovery. The 17-year-old was given Guard of Honour along with her mother A Padma.

In a similar incident, the Bengaluru City Police allowed five terminally ill kids to play the role of the Police Commissioner for a day on September 9. Fulfilling the children's life goals, the Police Department let the kids dress up as Commissioner, wearing neat khaki uniforms with badges, shoes, and belts. 

The make a wish foundation is a non-profit organization that creates life-changing wishes for children with a critical illness.
