On the day when Pakistan hosted the inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor on November 18, Indian Army Chief, General Bipin Rawat said that the Kartarpur Corridor should be seen in isolation, and not linked with anything else.

Questioned on the presence of pro- Khalistani separatist Chawla, the Army Chief said, "Everybody talks about giving peace a chance. You see what the (Indian) government said today. This (#KartarpurCorridor) is to be seen in isolation. It shouldn't be linked to anything else."

The ceremony held across the border also found Hafiz Saeed's aide Gopal Chawla in attendance, who was also seen interacting with the Pakistan CoAS General Bajwa.

On the sidelines of the event, the Hafiz Saeed aide was seen hobnobbing with the highest officials of Pakistan. Exclusively speaking to Republic TV, Chawla spoke in favour of the initiative, ironically addressing the 'harmony' that it will bring between the two countries.

He said, "Khalistan is (anti-India) there is no doubt about that. Even we are. But I appreciate this initiative, I also appreciate PM Imran Khan's, the General Qamar Jawed and especially Navjot Singh Sidhu. Because of his hug, his hug worked. Also, this is because of the blessings of Wahe Guru. I even appreciate PM Narendra Modi for his efforts towards the Sikh community.

Back on November 23, although the pronouncement of Kartarpur Corridor by the Pakistan government was initiated, the hate spewing by the country found no end. The Indian Sikh convoys in Pakistan were stopped from entering the Gurudwara Sacha Souda and causing hindrance to the entry of Indian diplomats was led by Gopal Chawal.

The Sikh Indian diplomat was found saying, “There are many gurudwaras in India and other parts of the world, but there are no restrictions anywhere. We have witnessed this for the first time that someone is being stopped from entering Guru’s house. This is the violation of the sanctity of the Gurudwara.”

While the Indian diplomats continued to argue with the officials to enter the shrine, the aide to the Lashkar-e-Taiba Chief, Chawla insisted for them to come some other day.
