The selection process of TNPSC is carried out in 3 stages
Every exam has its own syllabus, which is based on the books by 'TN Samacheer.' So the candidates need to prepare only with the Samacheer Books. There are also several institutes offering training for the TNPSC exams, but the book alone should suffice.
The candidates should go through the detailed Syllabus of TNPSC as there has been a revision by the commission in the exam scheme.
You can find the complete details of the syllabus on their official website: http://www.tnpsc.gov.in/new_syllabus.html
