Micro-blogging website Twitter restored the social media handle of Indian Army's Srinagar-based 15 Corps, namely Chinar Corps, on Friday afternoon, a day after suspending it. The Twitter account of the Chinar Corps was suspended on Thursday, after it was targeted by hundreds of fake handles run by the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and ISPR, as per sources.

The Chinar Corps oversee counter-terrorism operations in the Kashmir Valley and at the Line of Control (LoC). While Twitter did not give any satisfactory response as to why it had suspended that handle which had over 40,000 followers, sources told that Twitter has told the army that they will restore the handle by Friday evening.

The Twitter account has been restored on Friday and the process to get the account verified has started.
