On Thursday, the Supreme Court ordered the transfer of all the five cases in the Unnao matter from CBI court in Lucknow to the one in Delhi. It also ordered that the court in Delhi should complete the trial in 45 days and must hear the case daily. It directed the CBI to complete within seven days the investigation of the fifth case relating to the last Sunday's accident in which the woman and her lawyer were critically injured and two of her aunts killed.

The Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi who was hearing the case has also said that the rape-survivor and her lawyer should be airlifted if the family wants and that the decision on it will be taken on Friday. The CJI also ordered that Rs 25 lakhs interim compensation must be paid to the rape survivor by Friday by the Uttar Pradesh government. It also ordered full protection to the rape survivor and her family by the CRPF.

Later on Thursday, Republic TV confronted the man alleged to Sengar's aide who was shown in the channel's earlier broadcast handing something to the policeman outside the jail where the rape-accused is lodged. When cornered, the man identified as Rinku Shukla, admitted that he "offered money to the cop to have tea" and that he had met the rape-accused politician 10-15 days ago in jail.

Here's what Republic's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami had to say on the entire matter:

"Good evening and welcome. I have just one thing to say on Unnao: The BJP has miserably failed. The BJP has miserably failed to assure the people of this country that a woman raped by one of its own leaders will have even an assurance of justice. The BJP has miserably failed. On Republic Bharat a short while back, the BJP rapist leader's stooge admitted to me on live TV that yes I was bribing policeman in the jail where the rapist Kuldeep Sengar who is accused of rape and now of murder is locked up. If in BJP's Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh, a rapist leader fixes the system for two years, then they should stop giving platitudes and look within. The Supreme Court has stepped in today, but I am sorry, this is too late all this has happened after the damage has been done. We all thank the Supreme Court, but even the country's highest court knows-- that stepping in after injustice, stepping in after endless injustice, stepping in after the victim faces murderous attack, stepping in an atmosphere where people have stopped believing that politicians will not get away, for God's sake, we have fought for years against VVIP culture, but these people they use their political position to rape and murder at will. Yogi Adityanath, hear it from me now, make a statement on this, make a statement now, the nation wants to hear it," he said.
