UP government asks senior officials to take steps to prevent dengue

UP govt has asked the concerned Senior officials to take steps towards the prevention of dengue disease in the state. Mass awareness program will also be held

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday directed all the district magistrates and divisional commissioners to take effective steps for the prevention and control of dengue and other vector-borne diseases in the state.

In a statement issued here, state Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari said, "All the district magistrates and divisional commissioners are directed to take effective steps for prevention and control of dengue and other vector-borne diseases in the state."

Mass awareness 

"Apart from this, directives have also been issued to undertake mass awareness campaign in this regard," he added.Tiwari also said that the officials must inspect all government hospitals and ensure that medicines and other items needed to tackle dengue are available in adequate quantity.

Officials of the urban local bodies and health department have been told to undertake intensive fogging and spraying of anti-larvacidal substance, the statement said.

Instructions were also issued to organise health camps for the convenience of the public in terms of treatment and to spread awareness, it added.
