VIRAL: 'Mate, I’m Stoked,' Says PM Modi In Response To Australia Counterpart Scott Morrison's 'Kithana Acha He Modi' Selfie

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the two-day G-20 Summit in Osaka, Japan, where he held several bilateral meetings with World leaders. During the course of this, Prime Minister Modi and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison clicked a selfie. 

The Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison complimented Prime Minister Modi through a picture that he posted on Twitter and said 'Kithana acha he Modi (How nice Modi is),'. Reacting to Scott's use of Hindi in his tweet, Prime Minister Modi retweeted with a reference to one of the most popular Australian terms of endearment and wrote:

"Mate, I’m stoked about the energy of our bilateral relationship!"

Surprisingly, both leaders met for the first time after the elections in both countries. Both PM Modi and Australian PM Morrison extended congratulatory messages following their victory in the elections. In addition, Prime Minister Modi met the Presidents of Indonesia and Brazil on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit in Osaka, Japan on Saturday. Boosting bilateral ties and various issues of mutual interests at the meeting were the topic of discussion among the world leaders. 

Prime Minister Modi also posted about taking part in a special session on women's empowerment at the summit:

"At the #G20 Summit in Osaka, took part in a special session on empowerment of women. The session witnessed an in-depth dialogue on how to further women empowerment and work towards gender equality."

Speaking of meeting other world leaders, PM Modi also met President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Modi asserted that Turkey has always been a valued friend and that the relations have been tested:

"We made a massive, highly productive meeting with the President. Turkey is a valued friend of India, our relationships have been tested." he wrote

PM Modi held bilateral and plurilateral meetings with many other leaders, including US President Donald Trump, Russian president Vladimir Putin and China's Xi Jinping. As many as 10 bilateral meetings have been scheduled for the Prime Minister on the sidelines of the two-day G20 Summit on June 28-29 in Japan.
