Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar has left many speechless by speaking fluent Tamil during an event celebrating Pongal in the state. Khattar and Tamil Nadu BJP's Youth Wing Vice President SG Suryah tweeted videos of the chief minister speaking in Tamil at the event.

Khattar says that he learnt the language around four decades ago. He said that he visited Tamil Nadu in 1979 and fell in love with the language. He soon joined an institute for South Indian languages in Bengaluru and cleared School Certificate Course in Tamil.
He said that the occassion was the first time he got an opportunity to address in Tamil.
Adding that his speech would be an exam of his fluency in Tamil, the CM began his address leaving listeners on social media in awe of his Tamil speaking skill.
