The CBSE on Friday announced that the Class XII Economics board exam would be re-conducted on April 25 following the leak of the paper on March 26.

In his briefing, HRD secretary Anil Swarup mentioned on a number of occasions that the situation faced by Class XII students with regards to university entrances and other examinations necessitated a quick decision. However, the decision to hold the exams on April 25 makes matters very tricky for a significant number of students.

Students in the Science stream who have opted for Economics may have to balance their Economics preparation with the following exams:

  • AEEE 2018 for admission to Amrita University. The computer-based test is being held from April 19-22 and the pen-paper exam on April 28.
  • JEE Main 2018 for admission to the IITs is to be held on April 15 and 16.
  • ICFAI ATIT 2018/ ITSAT 2018, which is to be held online from April 23 to 30 and offline on April 28.
  • The IPU CET 2018, for admission to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University which is to be held from April 21 to May 27.
  • KEAM 2018 conducted by the Kerala government, which will be held on April 24 and 24.
  • KIITEE 2018 for admission to the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) which is to be held from April 14 to 24.
  • The Sathyabama University entrance exam, which is to be held from April 26 to 29.
  • The SRMJEEE 2018 for admission to SRM University which is to be held from April 16 to 30.

Earlier in the day, the Delhi police addressed a news briefing over the CBSE paper leak which has resulted in a mass of students and parents coming out on to the streets in New Delhi to protest. The students will have to sit through a re-exam for the Class X Mathematics and Class XII Economics papers after it was found that the papers had leaked before the exam date.
