On July 31, Zomato India made a Twitter buzz after giving a befitting reply to a customer who had posted on twitter a day ahead that he cancelled his order because a 'non-Hindu ' delivery executive was appointed. He also said that he will contact his lawyers as Zomato refused to change the delivery executive. Zomato's twitter handle that is known for its quirky tweets replied saying that food is the only religion. The incident took a larger space when Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal said that he is ready to lose a bit of business if he has to stand by his value. People across the spectrum lauded that the company openly took a stand against the communal demand of the customer owing to their value. The actress also said that the entire episode has made her hopeful.
Meanwhile, NC leader Omar Abdullah and former Supreme Court Judge S Y Quraishi also responded on the development saying that they love the app and that its founder Goyal is the 'real face of India'.
