"Nation would be rent asunder if anything happens", says a shocked Jay Panda on the plot to assassinate PM Modi

Lok Sabha MP Baijayant 'Jay' Panda has expressed his shock at the sinister plot that has come to light to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Taking to Twitter, Jay Panda, who recently left the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has shared a tweet where the letter detailing the plot is attached and has written:

"Whoa😳
Cold blooded & deeply cynical. Must not be taken lightly. India shd never again have another tragedy like Rajiv Gandhi's assassination. If anything happens to the PM, nation wd be rent asunder. Needs an Spl Task Force to get to the roots of this, hunt down the conspirators."

Just two days earlier, on Wednesday, Panda had shared another letter on Twitter. This letter was written to him by the Prime Minister condoling the recent death of Jay Panda's father Dr. Bansidhar Panda.

He had written about his deep appreciation for the PM's gesture:

In the letter, PM Modi said, " I am deeply saddened to learn of the demise of one of India's foremost Karmayogis, Dr. Bansidhar Panda. The loss os felt not only by your family but the whole nation, and especially the people of Odisha whose life he strived to transform. Dr. Panda, a scientist who studied in topmost universities of the world including Harvard and Michigan Technological University, and later worked abroad, could have lived a life of comfort anywhere in the world. After all, men of vision and talent are sought after everywhere. However, he chose to return to India and transforms the lives of people of Odisha. That he began to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams in a remote place in Odisha stands as a testimony to his great sense of responsibility towards working for his people. That he set out to establish an integrated ferroalloy in an era when industrialization was still not widespread phenomena in India shows his pioneering role in harnessing science, technology, and industry to power the nation and fight poverty. An unparalleled institution builder, not only did Mr. Panda work for the people but he also leaves behind a number of institutions that will continue to do great service to the nation in the domains of education, women empowerment, skill development and much more. His special friendship with Biju Babu, another giant of Odisha, both of whom shared a vision of Odisha's development, will always be remembered. I pray to the almighty to give you and your family the strength to bear the loss. Om Shanti to the departed soul!"

Panda had also recently been visited by BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav who had come to pay his respects as well:

Ram Madhav also took to Twitter to express his shock at the assassination plot. He wrote:

The letter detailing a plot to assassinate PM Modi had allegedly been seized by the Pune Police from the laptop of Rona Wilson who had been arrested along with four others in connection with the Bhima-Koregaon caste clashes that had broken out at the start of 2018.

 The letter proposed "concrete steps to end Modi-raj" and proposed a "Rajiv Gandhi type incident" and "targeting his road shows". 

The final paragraph of the letter reads: ''Defeating Hindu Fascism has been our core agenda and a major concern for the party. Several leaders from the secret cells, as well as open organizations, have raised this issue very strongly. We are working to consolidate ties with the like-minded organization, pol. parties, representatives of minorities across the country. Modi led Hindu Fascist regime is bulldozing its way into the lives of indigenous Adivasis. In spite of big defeats like Bihar and West Bengal,  Modi has successfully established BJP govt in more than 15 states. If this place continues then it would mean immense trouble for the party on all fronts. Greater suppression of dissent and more brutal form of Mission 2016 (OHG).Com.Kisan and few other senior comrades have proposed concrete steps to end Modi- raj. We are thinking along the lines of another Rajiv Gandhi type incident. It sounds suicidal and there is a good chance that we might fail but we feel that the party PB/CC must deliberate over our proposal. Targetting his road-shows could be an effective strategy. We collectively believe that survival of the party is supreme to all sacrifices. Rest in the next letter.''
