Arvind Kejriwal welcomes life sentence given to Sajjan Kumar for role in 1984 anti-Sikh riots

In the aftermath of Delhi High Court's judgment convicting Sajjan Kumar in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case and handing him a life term for his role, Delhi CM and AAP convenor Arvin Kejriwal has welcomed the verdict, stating everyone who was involved in the heinous act should be punished.

Taking to Twitter to express his delight with the order by the judiciary, Kejriwal wrote, "I welcome Delhi High Court verdict convicting Sajjan Kumar in 1984 riots case. It has been a very long n painful wait for innocent victims who were murdered by those in power. Nobody involved in any riot should be allowed to escape no matter how powerful the individual maybe."

His party leader Jarnail Singh also tweeted about this matter, welcoming the judgment by the High Court.

Stating that the crime which took place 34 years ago was an act against humanity, the HC judge pronounced that it was a failure of police and their failure to record FIR and daily diary registrar. All the accused in the case have been found guilty.
