In what came as major setback for the 'Mahagathbandhan', Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has snubbed Congress and has decided to go solo in Madhya Pradesh polls.  In a press Conference, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said:

"I have waited enough. I can't wait any longer. We are talking to BSP, but can't wait for Congress. Nobody waits this long in politics".

" We are not a bechara party. We are a small party in Madhya Pradesh but we count at number 4", he added.

Earlier this week, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav urged the Congress party to “take everyone together” and batted for Congress being the ringleader for the grand alliance.

“I don’t know what Congress has said. Congress is a good party. They understand everything . But I know one more thing that Bahujan Samaj Party is not taking any decision under the influence of anyone,” said Yadav.

Reacting on Mayawati’s claim that Congress’ ‘Mahagathbandhan’ dream will not fulfill, Akhilesh Yadav said:

“I want Mahagathbandhan to happen. The Congress should take everyone together. The Congress shouldn’t waste time anymore and should have a word with everyone,” said Yadav.

This comes after a fuming Mayawati dumped Congress saying that BSP will fight the upcoming Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh elections on its own. Putting the Congress on the mat, the BSP supremo announced, while addressing a press briefing, that her party will contest Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh elections alone and will not be allying with the Congress.

“We will contest Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh elections alone. We will not gain anything if we will go in alliance with the Congress at any cost. We will not bow in front of Congress. We have power to uproot our political rivals on our own,” said Mayawati.

The BSP supremo, Mayawati, also claimed that the Congress wants to crush BSP’s movement.

“Congress wants to crush BSP’s movement. It is doing natakbaazi...Congress wants to destroy BSP party under grand alliance,” said Mayawati.
