'This is Sanatan': Acharya Pramod mocks Udhayanidhi with Sunak-Hasina picture

Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam on Monday posted a picture of 'proud Hindu' Rishi Sunak, to mock the Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who said 'Sanatana Dharma should be eradicated,' sparking nationwide outrage. The UK PM was seen down on his knee while conversing with his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina in the viral picture. 

Sunak and Hasina were both in New Delhi for the G20 Summit on Sunday, when a candid picture of both leaders engaged in serious conversation garnered social media attention. Showering praises, the internet captioned it 'Sunak's humility.'

Notably, the UK Prime Minister on his arrival to India on Friday, said he celebrated the Hindu festival Raksha Bandhan but did not get a chance to celebrate Krishna Janmashtami, "I'm a proud Hindu, and that's how I was raised. That's how I am. Hopefully, I can visit a Mandir while I'm here for the next couple of days."

Congress' Acharya Pramod mocks Stalin

Taking a dig at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's minister son, the Congress leader shared a picture of Sunak and Hasina on X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote, "Yahi Sanatan Hai @Udhaystalin (This is Sanatan)."

DMK leader Stalin is facing massive backlash and severe criticism since he said on Saturday, September 2, that Sanatan Dharma should not merely be opposed but eradicated. While addressing the writers' conference in Chennai, he drew a parallel between 'Sanatan Dharma' and diseases such as dengue and malaria and said Sanatan Dharma is against the idea of social justice.

He was also slammed by several Hindu organisations and political outfits including the BJP. Referring to Udhayanidhi's 'Sanatana Dharma should be eradicated' remark, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya in a X post claimed that the state minister had called for the 'genocide' of 80 per cent population who follows the Hindu religion. 

"Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamilnadu CM MK Stalin, and a minister in the DMK Govt, has linked Sanatana Dharma to malaria and dengue… He is of the opinion that it must be eradicated and not merely opposed. In short, he is calling for genocide of 80% population of Bharat, who follow Sanatan Dharma," Malviya posted on X earlier.
