In the backdrop of Congress' Lok Sabha poll drubbing in Rajasthan, where BJP swept all 25 seats, Congress MLA alleged that the leaders in Rajasthan put self-interest above party's interest in the state. Sources on Tuesday also said that there is infighting in Rajasthan between two factions namely those supporting Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and those supporting Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot.

Congress MLA Ramnarain Meena said that if the Congress party in the state does not put the party before their self-interest, then the Rajasthan government will not be able to complete a full term.

"Congress's leadership and leaders in Rajasthan must leave their self-interest and under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi must talk about the strategy and solution, and they should select honest and hard-working members, only then the party will exist. Otherwise, Narendra Modi under Article 356 of the Constitution will dismiss the Rajasthan government. If we don't do anything, then till July this will happen," Meena said.

This comes a day after the BJP in Rajasthan claimed that Congress MLA's are upset with the party working. Moreover, sources said that there had been factions in the Rajasthan Congress, specially after Rahul Gandhi in the CWC meeting ticked-off Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for campaigning for his son in Jodhpur and not focussing on the state.

Speaking to Republic TV on May 28, Rajasthan BJP leader Gyan Dev Ahuja had said:

"They should decide to end the dynasty and someone outside the dynasty should rule the Congress. 25-30 MLAs (of Congress) are upset with the party, now let's see what will happen. I will tell nothing about it, our spokesperson will talk about it when needed."

He added: "In Rajasthan 25 seats were with BJP and even now it is with the BJP. Taking moral responsibility the entire state government should resign. Only the resignation of state chiefs will not do."
