Even as the political drama in Karnataka has now spread to Mumbai and Delhi, with the leaders from coalition government going to the Maharashtra capital to assuage the rebel MLAs staying there, and the rebel MLAs approaching the Supreme Court accusing him the Karnataka Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar of malafide intent as he did not accept all of their resignations, the MLAs from the JD(S) seem to have a good time away from it all.
With full-blown resort politics taking over in Karnataka, after all ministers from Congress and JD(S) resigned, MLAs from the JD(S) have been hidden away in the Golfshire Club in Devanahalli.
As per the pictures tweeted by ANI, the MLAs are seen in good shape and doing yoga.
The JD(S) had decided that once all its ministers resign in order to pave the way for the rebel MLAs, it will haul them all to a resort. The venue of the resort, however, kept changing. It came to light that the party had booked the Paddington resort in Kodavu shelling out between Rs 9,000 to Rs 25,000 per room. The venue was shifted again to a five-star hotel in Bengaluru fearing mass resignations.
With rebel MLAs seeking police protection ahead of visit by Karnataka's Congress leader DK Shivakumar a huge showdown took place as the well-known trouble-shooter refused od budge from outside the hotel despite the police escorting him away. The police later detained him along with former Mumbai Congress chief Milind Deora who had joined Shivakumar.
The rebel MLAs filed a plea before the CJI Ranjan Gogoi accusing the Speaker of having malafide intent of trying to save minority Congress-JD(S) government in the state
