As preparations are underway for the Yoga Day celebration on June 21, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das apprised the media about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Raghubar Das said that the Prime Minister will be visiting Ranchi for Yoga Day. He said that over 35,000 people will be present for the event. He further stated that PM Modi will perform Yoga at the Prabhat Tara ground. He said that Prime Minister Modi wants the event to be like a 'jan andolan' (people's revolution).

Jharkhand Chief Secretary D.K. Tiwari has directed to make preparations keeping in view the monsoon which is expected to hit the state on June 20. There will be 40 sectors for yoga performers and each will accommodate 400 to 800 people. Eight medical huts will also be constructed.

A Special Protection Group (SPG) team has reached to look into the security issues. According to sources in the government, around 4,000 security personnel of the state and paramilitary forces will be deployed at Prabhat Tara ground.

The health department also urged people to join Yoga and make it a part of life.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi has been posting one video daily that shows an animated version of the Prime Minister performing Yoga.

In the run-up to the International Yoga Day last year, Prime Minister posted a video of his morning exercise and yoga on June 13, 2018 from his official residence 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi. The video on the Twitter was posted following his acceptance to Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli’s popular ‘Fitness Challenge’. The fitness challenge was the brainchild of the then Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, who on May 22 had initiated a social media campaign to encourage Indians to exercise more. Rathore tagged a few celebrities, including Kohli, to take up his challenge, upload a video as proof, and pay it forward by nominating others for the task.

In 2015, India created two world records on International Yoga Day when PM Modi led the participants at Rajpath in Delhi and recorded the largest yoga class with 35,985 people. He also participated in a Yoga session in Argentina at last year's G20.
