As Congress leader, Karti Chidambaram met his father and former union minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday in Tihar jail, he said that his father is in good spirits. Chidambaram has been put in judicial custody in Tihar jail since September 5. As the case progresses in the apex court, Karti has been meeting his father every week. On Wednesday, Karti along with his mother Nalini, told reporters after meeting Chidambaram that the investigation in the matter is "bogus". Chidambaram's son further claimed that he has been summoned in the INX media case "15-20 times". "The Enforcement Directorate has summoned by 15-20 times... I have lost count. This is a meaningless exercise," he said. Chidambaram was arrested by the CBI on August 21 and was put in judicial custody since September 5 in the INX Media corruption case. The CBI has also accused Karti Chidambaram of receiving kickbacks in the matter.

Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ahmed Patel met Chidambaram
Earlier on September 18, Chidambaram's son Karti, senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ahmed Patel also went to Tihar Jail to meet him. After meeting his father at Tihar, Karti spoke to the media and said that the former Union Minister is a "strong man" and is in "very good spirits". He also said that Chidambaram is 'observing what is happening in the country'. "He is a very strong man, one who is being investigated but one should realise there is no case and trial, no charge sheet as yet. He is being subjected to a condition that perhaps one gets after verdict in a trial. This is not even a trial, it is pre-trial and this is only the investigation stage," Karti Chidambaram said, as reported by news agency ANI.

Karti Chidambaram 'photo-op' Claim smashed
While the world praised PM Modi for walking the talk by plogging at Mahabalipuram beach on Saturday, Congress' Sivaganga MP Karti Chidambaram took to Twitter to taunt the Prime Minister, claiming it was a 'staged photo-op'. He shared a collection of three photos featuring PM Modi plogging and a crew allegedly shooting the PM Modi doing the same. Curiously, the photo crew seen shooting the PM is entirely comprised of foreign nationals. Karti captioned the tweet 'Jai Shree Ram!'
Netizens have been quick to point out the staged photo. Here's what bust Karti's photo alleging PM Modi's photo-op:
- The picture which shows the crew is a cropped photo from the site Tayscreen
- The beach found in the picture is West Sands beach at St Andrews in Scotland, a popular filming location
- The towers shown in the original picture do not resemble structures in the vicinity of Mahabalipuram
