In an unprecedented move, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday reviewed and renamed various schemes and policies launched by the previous government in the state under former CM and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu.

Issuing a government order in the matter, the newly-appointed YSRCP government renamed 'NTR Vaidya Seva' as 'YSR Arogyasri'. Late former Andhra Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy launched the 'Arogyasri' scheme, which was later changed to 'NTR Vaidya Seva' during the TDP government in the state.

Furthermore, with 'NTR Bharosa' welfare pensions scheme being renamed as 'YSR Aasara', the mid-day meal scheme has been also renamed as 'YSR Akshaya Patra' by the Jagan Reddy government.

It has also been announced by the Andhra Pradesh government that the 'Annadata Sukhibhava', a scheme that was announced by the TDP government before the elections in the state, has been cancelled, introducing a new scheme called 'YSR Rytu Bharosa', aiming at providing input subsidy to farmers, with the central component.

The state government also introduced 'Rajanna Badi Baata' scheme on the lines of 'Badikosta' scheme of the previous government. According to officials, names of other schemes like 'Chandranna Bima' are also likely to see a change in the coming days.

Earlier in June, Jagan Reddy inducted 5 deputy chief minister and 25 new ministers in his cabinet, calling the Andhra assembly cabinet "socially-inclusive".

In line with his electoral promise, Jaganmohan Reddy gave Cabinet berths to seven legislators from the backward classes, five from the Scheduled Castes, one each from the Scheduled Tribes and Muslims, and four each from the Kapu and the Reddy communities. The Kamma community, which dominated the previous Chandrababu Naidu Cabinet, got just one berth. The Kshatriya and the Vysya communities also got one berth each.

State Governor E S L Narasimhan administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers at a glittering public function adjacent to the Secretariat at Velagapudi in capital Amaravati.
