Madhya Pradesh Congress says 'ticket aspirants must have 15,000 likes on their Facebook page, 5000 followers on Twitter'

The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee has come up with a bizarre diktat for all those who are aspiring to fight elections with the party’s ticket. While writing a letter, the Congress has demanded that the ticket aspirants must have ‘15,000 likes on their Facebook page, 5,000 followers on Twitter and an active WhatsApp group of booth-level workers’.

The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee has come up with a bizarre diktat for all those who are aspiring to fight elections with the party’s ticket. In a letter, the Congress has demanded that the ticket aspirants must have ‘15,000 likes on their Facebook page, 5,000 followers on Twitter and an active WhatsApp group of booth-level workers’.

The MPCC also said that it is mandatory for every Congress worker, legislator and ticket aspirant to retweet and like every tweet by the Twitter handle of MP Congress and to share and like every Facebook post by the INCMadhyaPradesh’s FB page.

In the letter, the Congress has said that it has decided that being active on social media will be made mandatory for all the party workers, leaders, legislators and ticket aspirants. The party further said that it has even decided to analyse the activeness of ticket aspirants for Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections on social media.

The Congress party has also charted out conditions on the basis of which activeness on social media will be analysed. Here are the conditions:

  • Having a Facebook page is mandatory.
  • Having a Twitter account is mandatory.
  • Being active on WhatsApp is mandatory.
  • 15000 likes on Facebook page, 5000 followers on Twitters and an active WhatsApp of booth-level workers are mandatory.
  • Retweeting and liking every tweet by the Twitter handle of MP Congress and sharing and liking every Facebook post by the INCMadhyaPradesh’s FB page are mandatory.

In the letter, the Congress has also asked all the workers, leaders and ticket aspirants to provide information on their Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp by September 15 in Congress’ social media and I-T cell department.

The Madhya Pradesh assembly elections are slated to take place somewhere end of this year. The state of Madhya Pradesh has 320 constituencies.
