Omar Abdullah on Wednesday tweeted about Imran Khan's speech where he said that the Kashmir conflict was the only issue between India and Pakistan. The National Conference chief said that the Pakistan PM's comment on the India-Pakistan issue was simplistic.

Pakistan PM Imran Khan had said during his speech at the Kartarpur Corridor foundation stone laying ceremony that the only issue between the two countries is Kashmir. He also said that if the leaders are decisive and committed towards bringing peace, the two countries could find a solution to their problems.

We have had wars but it was nothing like what happened over there. Our only issue is Kashmir. We need a decisive leadership on both sides which says we want to solve their issue. There is nothing that cannot be solved. We need to dream big. If our relationship is sorted there is so much potential. We will be benefited so much. I want a strong relationship with India, in order to end the war. There is nothing that cannot be solved.

The Pakistan PM has also said that he hoped the India-Pakistan relations will be resolved soon and that he won't have to wait for Sidhu to become India's PM.

I hope that I don't have to wait for Sidhu to become Prime Minister for there to be friendship between India and Pakistan. I hope such leadership comes that has the strength...Look at the history of humankind. When a leadership takes a stand, anything is possible

PM Khan also said that Sidhu seems to be popular in Pakistan and said, "You come here and fight elections in Punjab, you'll win."

Meanwhile India's Ministry of External Affairs has said it was regrettable that the Pakistan PM brought Kashmir issue during an event meant to fulfill the demand of the Sikh community.

"It is deeply regrettable that the Prime Minister of Pakistan chose to politicise the pious occasion meant to realise the long pending demand of the Sikh community to develop a Kartarpur corridor by making unwarranted reference to Jammu and Kashmir which is an integral and inalienable part of India.
