A day after praising Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party President Om Prakash Rajbhar on Thursday attacked the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and blamed the organisation for the country's partition. On Wednesday, he said that partition wouldn't have taken place if Muhammad Ali Jinnah was made the Prime Minister.

Reiterating his stand on Pakistan founder, the Samajwadi Party (SP) ally said that India would have been a big nation and all kinds of problems would have been avoided if he was made the Prime Minister.

Om Prakash Rajbhar told PTI that, "the RSS is responsible for India's partition, and not Jinnah. The state of the dispute was created by the Sangh." The SBSP chief further asserted that Jinnah fought for the country and he should have been made the PM.

Earlier, Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had compared Jinnah with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, insisting that the founding father of Pakistan "fought for the independence of India"

Rajbhar and Akhilesh slammed for 'Jinnah' remark

Reacting to Rajbhar's remarks, Union Minister Anurag Thakur accused opposition parties of appeasement politics ahead of the upcoming 2022 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. "Politics of appeasement start when polls come. Some start chanting Jinnah's name. SP-BSP leaders were in closed rooms and travelling abroad for the last four and a half years. The public remembers the Yogi government for its honesty, work and courage," Thakur told ANI.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi rejected Akhilesh Yadav's remarks and said that Indian Muslims have nothing to do with Jinnah. He stated that Jinnah is the 'main architect of Pakistan'.

Initially, AIMIM had forged an alliance with Rajbhar's SBSP but parted ways after the latter's alliance with the Samajwadi Party.
