In the run-up to the fifth International Yoga Day on June 21, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shared a video of his animated version doing the tadasana. He took to Twitter on June 5 and urged people to make yoga an integral part of their lives.

In the 3D animation video, the Prime Minister's animated version can be seen doing Tadasana or the palm-tree pose. He then explains the benefits of the asana citing a list of problems like heart disease, vertigo, etc. The video ends with the sentence, " Yoga for global peace harmony and wellness."

In his Twitter post, PM Modi wrote: "Doing Tadasana properly would enable you to practice many other Asanas with ease." Here's the video:

June 21 was designated World Yoga Day on PM Modi's suggestion in his speech at the UN General Assembly in 2014, months after he was first elected to office.Since then, the government marks the day in a big way with thousands participating in mass Yoga events across the country.

The Yoga videos depicting PM Modi's animated version guiding viewers on various asanas debuted online last year.

On June 5, Prime Minister wrote, "On June 21, we will mark Yoga Day 2019. I urge you all to make yoga an integral part of your life and also inspire others to do the same. The benefits of Yoga are tremendous."

In the run-up to the Yoga day last year, Prime Minister posted a video of his morning exercise and yoga on June 13, 2018 from his official residence 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi. The video on the twitter was posted following his acceptance to Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli’s popular ‘Fitness Challenge’. The fitness challenge was the brainchild of the then Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, who on May 22 had initiated a social media campaign to encourage Indians to exercise more. Rathore tagged a few celebrities, including Kohli, to take up his challenge, upload a video as proof, and pay it forward by nominating others for the task.
