Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh: After viewing a video on suicide techniques on social media, an 11-year-old child is suspected of killing himself at his home, according to police Saturday.

The student reportedly was studying in class 6th. He was alone in the house when he took the grave step. 

The incident happened on Thursday in the surroundings of the Hamirpur police station in Sumerpur town. According to the police, the boy's decision's motivation is still unknown.

"Nikhil Sahu (11), a class 6 student, was alone at home on Thursday afternoon. He watched a video on YouTube on ways to die by suicide and killed himself," Station House Officer (SHO) Ramasre Saroj told PTI.

The post-mortem examination report has confirmed that the boy died by suicide, he added. (With inputs from PTI)
