18th Lok Sabha: New Parliament Session To Begin From June 24

The special session of the 18th Lok Sabha will commence from June 24 along with the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected MPs.

New Delhi: The special session of the 18th Lok Sabha will commence from June 24 along with the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected MPs. The elections for the Lok Sabha speaker will be held on June 26, two days after the commencement of the session. Besides, President Droupadi Murmu will be addressing a joint sitting of both the Houses — Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha — on June 27.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in response to President Murmu's address in the Houses, will address the Lok Sabha on July 2 and Rajya Sabha on July 3. There will be no Zero Hour and Question Hour in the House. Seven-term parliamentarian and BJP leader Bhartruhari Mahtab, on Thursday, was made the pro-tem Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
