Ballabhgarh: In an unfortunate incident, a lintel fell on the first floor in Faridabad’s district's Ballabhgarh region on Sunday afternoon. The incident came to light in the afternoon when, due to weight overload, the lintel dropped.

Reportedly, construction work was going on near Marlena Road in the Adarsh Colony housing sector. After the incident, the labourers working over there took three men to the hospital who were badly injured.

During the incident, the owner of the house Lakhanpal, who was also present at the spot,  died on the spot. Another person who died after the lintel fell on him was identified as Ravinder, who was working there as a mason. The third individual who got critically injured has been identified as Wakeel. The injured were taken to Faridabad Badshah Khan Civil Hospital.

While speaking to Republic TV, one of the labourer's family members said, "We have filed a police complaint and we demand justice for the deceased’s family. Sudhir Tate, brother-in-law of Ravinder said that our demand is simple. Monetary aid should be provided to the victim’s family as he had two kids and Ravinder was the only breadwinner in the family.

Narrating the entire ordeal, Adarsh Nagar Police Station ASI Rajesh Kumar said, “It is being said there were a total of seven people, out of which one was the owner. During the incident, two people died and one was critically injured. When the incident took place, two labourers had gone to have food."

He further added, “The police team and four fire tenders rushed to the spot. The rescue operation is currently on and we are trying to remove all the debris."
