An earthquake measuring the magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale has jolted parts of northeastern states

An earthquake measuring 5.0 Richter scale jolted parts of Northeastern States. The tremors have been felt in Assam, Meghalaya, Bangladesh, and Tripura. The epicentre has been recorded at Bangladesh's Kanaighat. Notably, there have been no reports of casualties or injuries. 

An eyewitness from Guwahati told Republic TV, "The entire room began oscillating and water bottles tumbled down. We managed to escape and came downstairs".
