After SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia, BJP leader Amarpal Singh Bony Ajnala summoned by SIT

Chandigarh: After SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia, now BJP leader Amarpal Singh Bony Ajnala has been summoned to appear before the special investigating team (SIT) probing the Jagdish Bhola drug case. Bony Ajnala was asked to appear on December 13 at 3 pm in the Patiala office in connection with the case of drugs registered in December 2021. Though Majithia has already been summoned by SIT for December 18 in the same case.

The additional director general of police (ADGP), Patiala range-cum-SIT in-charge, has asked the police commissioner to instruct the Ranjit Avenue police to inform Bony Ajnala to appear before the ADGP, Patiala range, on December 13. Summoned to both leaders have been served by local police as Majithia and Bony Ajnala are natives of Amritsar.

Though SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia had already been arrested just before the Punjab assembly polls in the same case and secured bail.

On 20 Dec 2021, cases under sections 25, 27A and 29 NDPS Act were registered against Bikram Singh Majithia and arrested. The SIT headed by Patiala range ADGP is further investigating the case.

Sources in SIT revealed that Bony Ajnala has confirmed his appearance before SIT in the Patiala office.

Though SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia claimed it was a political vendetta against him. Majithia said that since he was raising his voice against CM Bhagwant Mann on several issues he was being targeted. Majithia said CM is using police to press the voices against him. He added that the day he released the video of Mann’s daughter in which she was levelling allegations against Mann, he was waiting for the summons.
