Fifth Batch of 6537 Pilgrims Leave for Amarnath Yatra
The fifth batch of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims departed from Jammu under heavy security cover.
Amarnath: The fifth batch of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims departed from Jammu under heavy security cover. A total of 6,537 pilgrims left from the Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu, traveling in 261 vehicles. Among them, 2,106 pilgrims headed towards Baltal in 105 vehicles, while 4,431 pilgrims set off for Pahalgam in 156 vehicles.
Official data from the Police Control Room reads that a total of 2106 pilgrims left including 1568 males, 422 females, 14 children, 91 Sadhus, and 11 Sadhvis have embarked on the Baltal route. For the Pahalgam route, a total of 4432 pilgrims left including 3524 males, 1102 females, 19 children, 301 Sadhus, and 24 Sadhvis, have begun their journey.
Over 50 thousand pilgrims have paid obeisance at the holy cave of Lord Shiva in the first three days of the pilgrimage. More than 3.5 lakh pilgrims have registered for the holy pilgrimage this year. The 52-day yatra formally began on June 29 and will conclude on August 19.
