Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Chhattisgarh on Friday night for a three-day visit aimed at strengthening anti-Naxal operations and enhancing security measures. Landing at Swami Vivekananda Airport shortly after 10 pm, Shah was welcomed by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy CM Vijay Sharma, and other senior officials.

On Saturday morning, Shah is set to visit the Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya Ashram in Champaran, Raipur district. He will then lead a crucial meeting with Chief Secretaries and Director Generals of Police from Chhattisgarh and neighboring states to discuss interstate coordination. The agenda also includes a session focusing on security and development in areas affected by Left Wing Extremism (LWE).

Since the BJP's rise to power in Chhattisgarh last year, anti-Naxal operations have intensified, with security forces eliminating 142 Naxalites in the state this year alone.

On Sunday, Shah will inaugurate a new office of the Narcotics Control Bureau in Raipur at 10:30 am and participate in a review meeting. Additionally, he will address the expansion of the cooperative sector in the state.

This visit marks Shah’s first trip to Chhattisgarh during the third term of the Narendra Modi government.
