New Delhi: Another flight carrying 12 Indian nationals, who were deported from the United States to Panama, landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Sunday evening. According to information, this is the fourth flight to India carrying Indian immigrants. The individuals, who were deemed illegal immigrants by US authorities, were first sent to Panama before being flown back to India. The officials stated that this was the first batch of Indians to be repatriated from Panama after the US deported over 300 illegal immigrants who were attempting to enter American soil.
According to airport officials, the flight arrived at the airport on Sunday evening, and the individuals were handed over to Indian immigration authorities. The deportation is part of the US government's efforts to crack down on illegal immigration. The recent batch of Indian nationals deported from Panama arrived in New Delhi via Istanbul on a Turkish Airlines flight. The group consisted of four individuals from Punjab, three from Haryana , three from Uttar Pradesh, and one person whose identity was not ascertained. However, the exact number of Indian immigrants among the 299 deported to Panama remains unclear.
The US has been working with Panama and Costa Rica to facilitate the repatriation of deported migrants. As part of this effort, the US is transferring undocumented migrants from various Asian nations to these Central American countries. The Trump administration has vowed to deport millions of undocumented immigrants who entered the US illegally. As part of this intensified crackdown, the US has already deported three groups of Indian nationals, totalling 332 individuals, back to India.
The US government has also been working to strengthen its borders and enforce immigration laws, resulting in an increase in deportations.

The Indian government has been working with US authorities to facilitate the return of Indian nationals who have been deported. The individuals who arrived on Sunday will likely undergo further processing and questioning by Indian authorities before being released.
Last week, the individuals arrived in three planes after Panamanian President Jose Raul Mulino agreed to make Panama a 'bridge' country for deportees.

Repatriation Efforts and Concerns
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has confirmed that it is verifying the details of the deported individuals to ensure they are Indian nationals. Once verified, arrangements will be made for their return home. Meanwhile, out of 299 undocumented migrants currently in Panama, only 171 have consented to return to their home countries. Human rights groups have raised concerns about the treatment and safety of these migrants.
Earlier, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal informed reporters during his weekly briefing that the government is verifying the details and will make arrangements for the return of the Indian nationals once the verification is complete. Notably, prior to the flight from Panama, three US flights with Indian migrants arrived at Punjab's Amritsar Airport, deporting more than 300 illegal immigrants to India from the United States.
