Arunachal Man Accused of Raping Minor, Arrested After 6 Years on Run

Itanagar: A man accused of raping a girl in Arunachal Pradesh was arrested in Guwahati on Friday, ending a six-year manhunt. The arrest was made by a special police team, according to SP (Capital) Rohit Rajbir Singh.

The accused had been evading authorities since 2018, after being released on bail. He faces charges related to the sexual assault of a girl in 2015, a case currently under trial before a special judge (POCSO) in Yupia.

Police worked tirelessly using both technical and human intelligence to track the fugitive, Singh said.
