However, Bachchan is not the only one who has contributed in an effort to help the state combat floods. Earlier, on July 17, Akshay Kumar donated over Rs 1 crore to the CM relief fund and an additional one crore to the Kaziranga National Park rescue. The Kaziranga National Park is among the worst-hit places in Assam, with almost 90% of its area submerged at the peak of the floods. Herds of animals have been displaced, even as national park volunteers struggle to save the stranded animals. Over 4000 villages and 46 lakh people had been affected due to the floods as of Monday afternoon, while almost a lakh hectares of agricultural land was inundated, as per agencies.
