Mumbai: The Crime Branch has requested documents from Slum Rehabilitation Authority regarding the slum redevelopment project of Sant Gyaneshwar Nagar in Bandra Kula Complex in connection with the NCP Leader and former minister Baba Siddique's murder case probe.

The SRA redevelopment project could potentially be a key factor in the investigation surrounding his murder. The project has raised numerous concerns, leading to speculation about its role in the case.

When Republic reached out to Zeeshan Siddique for comments on possible foul play linked to the SRA project, he responded, "The investigation is ongoing. I’m not in the right frame of mind, but I will answer the questions in due time."

Baba Siddique’s son, Zeeshan Siddique, took to the social media platform X, stating, "My father lost his life protecting and saving the lives and homes of poor innocent people. Today, my family is broken but his death must not be politicised and definitely not go in vain. I NEED JUSTICE, MY FAMILY NEEDS JUSTICE!"
