On Saturday, as India celebrated the Dussehra, Pandit Sharma took to social media platform X, to extend greetings and used the opportunity to express his concerns about the BBC's alleged international propaganda of creating global division.
In his post, Pandit Sharma highlighted specific instances where the BBC, through its documentaries and storytelling, had allegedly distorted facts and perpetuated stereotypes about Hinduism.

Pandit Satish Sharma's Tweet Sparks Debate About BBC's Credibility
As he posted the poster of ‘BBC on Trial’ on X, Pandit Sharma's tweets quickly went viral, sparking a heated debate about the BBC's credibility and journalistic ethics. Many of his followers and supporters rallied behind him, sharing their own experiences and concerns about the BBC's coverage of Hinduism and India-related issues.
Sharma's callout of the BBC is significant not only because of his stature as a scholar and representative of Hinduism but also because of the social media platform he has chosen to raise his concerns, which allows voices like Pandit Sharma's to reach a wider population.
Meanwhile, as the documentary poster unfolds, it remains to be seen how the BBC will respond to Pandit Satish Sharma's allegations and whether it will take concrete steps to address the concerns of the Hindu community and other marginalised groups. Amid this, one thing is certain that the debate about media representation and bias is far from over, and voices like that of Satish Sharma will continue to play a crucial role in shaping the narrative.
The BBC has yet to respond to Sharma's allegations, but the debate over the documentary has already attracted attention from various media watchdogs and endorsing groups.
Notably, this is not the first time that the BBC has faced criticism for its coverage of Hinduism and India. Earlier as well on several occasions, the BBC came under scanner for its coverage prompting several people to call for greater accountability and diversity in the media outlet's reporting.
