New Delhi: A man set himself on fire near Parliament on Wednesday, causing severe burns. The individual, identified as Jitendra from Bagpat, Uttar Pradesh, was quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment.
At the scene, authorities found a half-burnt two-page note, though its contents remain unclear. Petrol was also discovered nearby, and investigations are ongoing.
According to police, Jitendra set himself ablaze in a park near Rail Bhavan, the headquarters of Indian Railways, before running towards Parliament House. Authorities suspect that personal issues may have driven him to attempt suicide.
