Bihar Bullet Train: These 5 Cities To Have Stations As Part Of Delhi-Howrah High-Speed Rail Corridor
Five major cities in Bihar are going to be the part of ambitious upcoming another bullet train project. Check details.
Patna: As construction of country's bullet train project between Mumbai-Ahmedabad is in full swing, an ambitious high-speed train project is also being planned in Bihar. The upcoming bullet train project will cover five major cities in state including Buxar, Arrah, Jehanabad, Patna and Gaya. Railway officials who are involved in pre-construction survey of the project have visited Udwantnagar in Bihar for land acquisition survey. The bullet train line in Bihar will fall between Bhojpur-Buxar.
The initial work related to the bullet train project in Bihar has already been initiated. The upcoming bullet train project will be an 61-km long elevated corridor with five stations.
However, this high-speed railway project is not going to be standalone train corridor in Bihar and will be part of the proposed bullet train project between Delhi-Howrah which will go from Varanasi to Kolkata via Mirzapur, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Buxar, Bhojpur, Patna, Jehanabad, Gaya, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Giridih, Dhanbad, West Burdwan, East Burdwan and Howrah.
Bullet train stations in Bihar
As part of this bullet train projects, five stations on the route will be constructed in Bihar. These five stations are likely to be:
- Buxar
- Arrah
- Jehanabad
- Patna
- Gaya
As per reports, in the first phase of this project, bullet train stations will be built in Buxar, Patna, and Gaya, while Arrah and Jehanabad will be constructed in the second phase.
These stations are part of the planned route, however, the line alignment and stations may change in future.
Land acquisition process begins
The National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) has started the socio-economic survey of the proposed bullet train project which will pass from Bihar. Related authorities have also started the land acquisition process.
According to reports, 135.06 hectare land will be acquired for the elevated track and station in Patna district, where the total length of the track will be 61-km approx.
People whose land will be acquired would be given compensation 4 times of the circle rate in rural areas and 2 times the circle rate in urban areas.

The bullet train station in Patna will be built behind AIIMS in Phulwari Sharif.
When will bullet train construction will start?
The construction of this bullet train project is expected to start in 2031. Meanwhile, the bullet train project between Mumbai-Ahmedabad is expected to be completed in 2026.
