Rescue Operations Underway, 5 Workers Still Buried Under the Snow
The Indian Army, SDRF and NDRF teams have been deployed since yesterday and are braving the extreme temperatures to continue the rescue operations and save the BRO workers trapped under the snow. Out of 55 workers who were buried after the avalanche, 50 have been rescued and attempts are being made to evacuate the remaining five workers.
An avalanche struck the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) camp situated between Mana and Badrinath early on Friday, around 5:30 to 6 am.
