Tiruvallur: At least three people were killed and several others were injured in Tamil Nadu's Tiruvallur after a massive fire broke out at a paint factory located in the area. According to the information available, while the two deaths reported were of the workers in the unit, the other deceased was an onlooker who was hit by a metal plate that flung off the unit after the fire triggered an explosion. 

On information, the local police and the fire department personnel rushed to the spot and efforts were initiated to douse the fire. 

The injured were shifted to the nearby hospitals, where 3 of them were declared dead.

A case has been registered by the police and further legal action into the matter is being taken.
