BREAKING: Air India Express Flight IX613 Makes Miraculous Landing At Trichy Airport

Chennai: An Air India Express flight en route to Sharjah encountered a mid-air hydraulic failure on Friday, and made a safe landing at the Trichy airport. The Air India flight was circling in the air for about two hours to reduce fuel before making an emergency landing back at Trichy Airport.

The airline had earlier confirmed the situation in a statement, noting, “Air India flight from Trichy to Sharjah faced a technical problem (hydraulic failure) and is rounding in airspace to decrease the fuel before landing at Trichy airport.”

In preparation for the landing, more than 20 ambulances and fire tenders were deployed at the airport to ensure passenger safety and to prevent any potential accidents, according to Airport Director Gopalakrishnan.
