'Was Sanjoy Roy Stalking Abhaya?': CBI Seeks Narco Analysis Test Nod to Get Answers
CBI has been granted permission to conduct Narco Analysis test of the main accused in Kolkata Rape and Murder Case, Sanjoy Roy and has cited four main reasons.
Kolkata: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). who had sought Sealdah Court's permission to conduct a narco analysis test of the main accused in the Kolkata Rape and Murder Case, Sanjoy Roy, has been granted the permission. The narco analysis will help the probe agency get answers to multiple questions including whether Roy was stalking Abhaya or not.
CBI Gets Permission for Sanjoy Roy's Narco Analysis Test
In the investigation of the Kolkata rape and murder case, the CBI filed an application in Sealdah Court to conduct a narco-analysis test on the accused, Sanjay Roy. An application for the same was filed in Sealdah Court and has been approved. The agency has also specified the reasons for this test.
‘Was Sanjoy Roy Stalking Abhaya?’: CBI Cites Reasons for Narco Analysis
While seeking permission for Sanjoy Roy's narco analysis test, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also cited four primary reasons why they want to conduct this test. The four reasons are -
- Inconsistency in the multiple statements recorded so far.
- To find out whether he was stalking Abhaya.
- To find out if there are any accomplices.
- To find out if this was a planned attack.
CM Mamata Ready to Resign, Agitating Doctors React
In another related news, on Thursday, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee urged the protesting doctors to return to work, adding that she has no greed for her CM post, but is more concerned about justice for the RG Kar rape-murder victim and treatment for ordinary citizens. CM Banerjee said, “I am ready to resign from the Chief Minister of West Bengal. I am not concerned about the post. I want justice for the victim, I am only concerned about ordinary people getting medical service.”
Responding to this, the doctors clarified that they had not demanded CM Banerjee's resignation, despite her offer. One of the doctors said, “The chief minister's remarks are unfortunate. We wanted the talks to take place. However, the state administration was adamant about not allowing live streaming of the meeting. Our demands are justified. We wanted live streaming for the transparency of the meeting.”
In a latest development, the doctors have written a mail to the President of India and have CC-ed the Prime Minister, Vice President and the Health Minister.
The protesting doctors across the country are seeking justice for Abhaya, the trainee doctor of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, who was brutally raped and murdered during her 36-hour shift, in the hospital's seminar room. The main accused Sanjoy Roy, a civic volunteer has been arrested and the former principal of RG Kar, Sandip Ghosh is also in the police custody in the RG Kar Financial Irregularities Case. The CBI is currently investigating the matter.
