New Delhi: Delhi’s peak power demand surged to an unprecedented 8647 megawatts (MW) on Tuesday, highest ever in the history of the national capital. This surpasses the previous record of 8000 MW first reached on May 22, 2024, and marks the ninth instance of Delhi's peak power demand exceeding 8000 MW since then.
The rise in electricity consumption reflects growing demands amid rising temperatures and increased economic activities. Despite the challenges posed by such high demand, both BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) reported successful management of the peak load in their respective areas.
