BREAKING: Massive Fire Engulfs 4 Coaches of Taj Express in Delhi's Sarita Vihar

A massive fire erupted on Taj Express in Delhi’s Sarita Vihar area on Monday evening leading to a major chaos among the passengers present inside the train.

New Delhi: A massive fire erupted on a passenger train in Delhi’s Sarita Vihar area on Monday evening leading to a major chaos among the passengers present inside the train. According to the information, the fire spread rapidly and engulfed as many as four coaches of the Taj Express. It is being said that the incident occurred at around 4.25 pm, when information was passed to the Railway police and the Delhi Fire Services.

Confirming the incident, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways) stated that no one was reported injured during the incident. All the passengers present inside the train were evacuated timely and shifted to safe place.

Around 8 fire tenders are present at the spot and efforts are being made at the spot to douse the fire. The incident took place in Sarita Vihar’s Harkesh Nagar area.

The DCP said, “On June 3, a PCR call at 4.41 pm was received regarding fire in a train at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. The Investigating officer reached the spot near Apollo hospital.”

The police team rushed to the spot and found that there was a fire in four coaches of the Taj Express train.

“Following the fire that broke out on the train, it was stopped. No one was injured as the passengers deboarded the coaches and moved to the other coaches. Further, action is being taken by the Railways,” the police official added.

A probe has been launched to ascertain the exact cause of the fire.
