BREAKING: NCP Leader Baba Siddique Shot Multiple Times To Death In Mumbai's Bandra East
NCP Ajit Pawar faction leader Baba Siddique was shot multiple times to death in Mumbai's Bandra East by unidentified assailants.
NCP Ajit Pawar faction leader Baba Siddique was on Saturday shot multiple times to death in Mumbai. The former Maharashtra minister, Baba Siddique was shot at in Bandra East, following which he was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in a critical condition, where he was declared dead. According to the Mumbai Police, NCP senior leader Baba Siddique has been fired upon by unidentified people. He has been admitted to the nearby Lilavati Hospital, where he was declared dead.
Reports suggested that Baba Siddique, who was a member of the Congress party before joining the NCP, had received bullet injuries around his chest. It is not yet clear who fired at him. The police are searching for the accused, who fled the spot after firing.
As per the sources, the incident happened when Baba Siddique was leaving his office at around 9.15 PM. It is being claimed that three people came with their faces covered and fired upon Baba Siddique before fleeing the spot.
The police are yet to officially issue a statement regarding the same.
Baba Siddique was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Maharashtra representing the Vandre West Assembly constituency. He was the MLA for three consecutive terms in 1999, 2004 and 2009, and had also served as a Minister of State for Food & Civil Supplies, Labour and FDA.
In February 2024, Baba Siddique had resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party and joined the Nationalist Congress Party led by Ajit Pawar on February 12.
