Everything you need to know about the rape accused's alleged role in sex scandal

Accusations against Prajwal Revanna range from sexual assault to misconduct, with one woman alleging abuse spanning from 2019 to 2022. The complainant also claimed that HD Revanna, Prajwal's father, was involved in the assaults, and there were threats to her life and her family's safety.

Furthermore, allegations of misbehaviour with the complainant's daughter over a video call and engaging in "vulgar conversations" were leveled against Prajwal Revanna.

The MP, who is seeking a second term from Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, went abroad just a day after polling took place in his constituency. Prajwal had been asked by his party and family members, including HD Kumaraswamy (his uncle) and HD Deve Gowda (his grandfather) to return immediately and face the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the government.

Revanna had also applied for anticipatory bail plea in the infamous sex tape scandal case. The bail plea petition was filed in the representative court by Revanna's lawyer.

A Special Court for Elected Representatives issued an arrest warrant on May 18 against Prajwal Revanna, following an application moved by the SIT.

To a question on the arrest of two persons by SIT in connection with the pen drive circulation case, the Home Minister said more than the question of Congress, BJP and JD(S), whoever is involved in this case, will be arrested.

"Already 11-12 people have been arrested, whoever they (SIT) feel are involved in the case, during the investigation, they will arrest them and inquire them," he added.

The cases of sexual abuse came to light after several pen drives allegedly containing explicit videos involving Prajwal were reportedly circulated in Hassan, ahead of Lok Sabha polls there on April 26.

To a query regarding the case in which money to the tune of crores was embezzled at a state-run corporation under the Scheduled Tribes Welfare department, and an official committed suicide in connection with the case, the Home Minister said the CID probe is on.

Father-son duo deny all allegations

Both HD Revanna and Prajwal vehemently denied the allegations, labeling the videos as "doctored" and part of a malicious campaign to tarnish their reputation. Prajwal Revanna has been absconding since the obscene videos emerged, reportedly stationed in Germany. The Hassan candidate is likely to surrender to the police soon.
