Gonda: The driver, who was behind the wheels of the SUV that allegedly knocked down two youth in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda on Wednesday, has been arrested. The vehicle has been seized by police. 

According to Additional SP Radhe Shyam Rai, the deceased were on bike when the accident happened. They were rushed to hospital but doctors declared them dead. The bodies have been sent for postmortem.  

The Additional SP said, “ A case has been registered under the appropriate sections. Fortuner has been taken into custody. The driver of the Fortuner is also arrested..." 

The hit-and-run incident also left two injured. According to sources,  the SUV was a part of convoy of Karan Bhuhan, BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Kaiserganj and son of MP Brij Bhushan.

Victims' Family Demands Justice

The victim’s kin have demanded justice, seeking a probe into the matter. It is being investigated whether Karan Bhushan was present inside the SUV at the time of the incident. Based on a complaint, a case has been registered at colonelganj police station. The uncle of the deceased boys said that the car overtook and killed the duo.  

Faman, uncle of the deceased boys who were killed by the SUV, claimed that the vehicle was a part of convoy of Karan Bhushan. He said soon after the accident they ran to the spot and took the duo to hospital. 

He said, “The car overtook and killed our children. We have lost our children. The convoy was of karan bhushan. We got to know that it was netaji's car,” he added.
