BJP National President Amit Shah on Saturday, October 12 claimed that development in Chhattisgarh increased by five folds under Chief Minister Raman Singh’s rule.

He said, “The power generation capacity of the state was 4 thousand megawatts which have been enhanced to 22 thousand megawatts during the BJP government. There is no statistics of growth in the state that hasn’t witnessed a fivefold growth during the tenure of chief minister Raman Singh. I have also worked in Gujarat but I am astonished by the development work of Raman Singh, which only he and a BJP government can do.”

He also credited party workers for BJP’s win in different states.

“I want to tell all that we are winning states after states because of our party workers who are the real owners of our party. BJP started with 10 members in 1950 and is today has 11 crore members. We have the maximum number of MLA’s and MP’s in the country. Our party workers sacrificed their lives in these 50 years of struggle and even today BJP par ty workers are sacrificing their lives in Bengal,” he said.

He further accused the Congress government of not doing enough to curb the menace of Naxalism in the state.

“After Raman Singh taking charge as Chhattisgarh chief minister, the state has witnessed immense development. During Congress government, Naxalism prospered. Raman Singh fought with the issue and brought development in the state,” Shah said.

Chhattisgarh will go to polls in two phases- November 12 and 20 respectively. Counting of votes will be done on December 11.
