New Delhi: Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday, five days after the deadly terror attack at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting comes amid heightened security operations across the Valley.

Security forces have intensified their crackdown on terrorists active in Jammu and Kashmir following the attack, which left 26 tourists dead and several others injured.

In a major action on Saturday, security forces demolished the house of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Adnan Shafi in the Zainapora area of Shopian district. Officials said the operation was carried out jointly by the security forces and district administration, targeting properties belonging to active terrorists.

Adnan Shafi, linked with Pakistan -backed Lashkar-e-Taiba, had been operating from Zainapora before his active involvement with foreign terror groups.

This is the sixth such demolition since the Pahalgam attack, as authorities push forward with a tough response against terrorism in the region.

Earlier, intelligence agencies had released a list of 14 local terrorists believed to be operational in Jammu and Kashmir. These individuals are suspected to be providing ground support to cross-border terror networks, mainly affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
